RSM · Regenerative Systems Metamind

A distributed intelligence.
For an interconnected world.

RSM, the Regenerative Systems Metamind, is a distributed intelligence architecture for an interconnected world, and for outcomes that no single organization controls. Independently governed systems become mutually intelligible through one shared model, so they can discover what is possible, coordinate commitments, act under legitimate authority and learn from what actually happened, without central ownership and without giving up authority over their own state.

WHY A SHARED LANGUAGE

Outcomes cross boundaries.
Meaning does not.

A regional food outcome depends on farms, soil and watersheds, a mill, a laboratory, a lender and a buyer. Each runs its own systems, and each is rightly authoritative for its own part.

Connecting those systems moves data. It does not tell them what the data means: whether capacity is actually available, whether a recommendation is a commitment, whether a completed activity changed anything. RSM supplies that shared meaning, so systems can coordinate without merging. Read the full case.

THE THREE PLANES OF ONE ECOLOGY

When systems understand one another

RSM describes one living ecology through three planes. They are views of the same ecology, not separate systems, and each makes something possible that no participant can do alone. The Metamind is the distributed reasoning that works across all three; it does not replace them.

01

See what already exists

Persistent Ecology. Participants, relationships, capability and available capacity become visible across organizational boundaries, before anyone asks for anything.

The persistent ecology
02

Form what no one could alone

Outcome Formation. An Intent can reveal combinations, gaps and pathways that no single participant could see. It becomes a Formation only when participants with authority commit.

03

Learn from what actually happened

Reality & Learning. Activity, observation and outcome stay distinct, so the ecology learns from evaluated consequences rather than from claims.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

The architecture at a glance

Participants operate sovereign RSM Nodes. Through the RSM Model, the Metamind reasons across the three planes of one ecology, carried by foundations whose maturity is shown plainly. Every Intent moves along the same eleven-stage progression, and four principles never bend.

  1. Participants. The ten foundational kinds: People, Organizations, Communities, Living systems, Places, Facilities, Materials, Instruments, Digital agents, Formations. Formations exist only once participants with authority commit.
  2. Sovereign RSM Nodes. Independently operated and policy-bound, each authoritative for its own state, federating through the protocol with no custody loss.
  3. Three conceptual planes of one ecology. Persistent Ecology (Subjects, Relationships, Capability, Capacity); Outcome Formation (Intent, Configuration, Commitment, Formation); Reality and Learning (Activity, Observation, Outcome, Biography). The Metamind reasons across all three and replaces none of them.
  4. Foundations. RSM Model: semantic, canonical and computational foundation (Specified · 01–06); RSM ID: identity, trust, issuance and resolution (Proposed · 08–09); R2D2 Network: discovery, directory and federation (Proposed integration); RSM Agents: sensing, reasoning, orchestration, authorized action, learning (Proposed architecture).
  5. Canonical progression. Intent → Discovery → Configuration → Gap → Pathway → Commitment → Formation → Activity → Observation → Outcome → Biography. Intent is Canonical; Discovery to Pathway is Derived reasoning, not agreement; Commitment to Outcome is Canonical; Biography is a projection.
  6. Principles. Sovereignty preserved: custody and authority stay local. Authority is explicit: capability never confers permission. Discovery is not commitment: possibility is not agreement. Evidence supports outcomes: evidence is not a twelfth stage.

THE GOVERNED FOUNDATION

The specifications govern. This site explains.

Every document is published with its literal status and version, and wherever this site restates a concept, the specification controls. Conformance is proven by executable scenarios, not by claims.
